Craig Ranch Regional Park is approximately 170 acres in size. They have four civic plazas for parties, three dog parks, and two lighted competition baseball fields. They also have tennis, volleyball courts, basketball courts, and community gardens. The park also offers a 65,000 square foot skate park; a great place to go for the skateboarder or skater in your family. Aliante Nature Discovery Park is another park in the area that offers a little more than just outside play. This park has a waterfall rock display flowing into a small pond that is full of ducks and little ducklings; as well as a large outside play area with a three story jungle gym area with awesome winding slides. Other local parks in the area include Goynes Park, Patriot Park, Sandstone Ridge Park, and Desert Horizons Park. Within a few minutes of Storage West on Craig Rd, there are three 18-hole golf courses; the Los Prados Golf Club, Aliante Golf Club, and Shadow Creek Golf Club. Los Prados Golf Club offers 18 holes with yardage just under 6000 yards and a par of 70. The course has 3 large par 5s and 10 spacious par 4 holes. This course is a challenging test for even the experienced golfer. There is also The Restaurant at Los Prados. There they offer fine dining in a casual atmosphere. They also have the 19th Hole Lounge which is a great place to unwind after a great game of golf. Shadow Creek Golf Club is a more challenging course. They have a par of 72. This course has 7,560 yards of play on rolling hills and canyons in the heart of North Las Vegas. Aliante Golf Club is an elegant option amongst the local clubs, stretching 7,000 yards from the back tees. Storage West on Craig Rd is directly north of Downtown Las Vegas, home of the Freemont Street Experience. This is only a few minutes further away from the infamous Las Vegas Strip. To the southwest of Storage West on Craig is the Texas Station Hotel and Casino; which offers more family friendly entertainment with a movie theater, arcade room, kids play area, and a bowling alley. A little north of Storage West on Craig is the Aliante Casino Resort; geared more towards mom and dad, with fine dining, a sports book, bingo, a spa, and various concerts and other events. Three and a half miles from Storage West on Craig is the infamous Bacon Bar. Most recognizable from appearing on several TV shows showcasing their specialty menu and drinks which almost all are made with BACON. According to them, if it is worth eating, it is better eating with Bacon! A few miles south is another famous stop, the Heart Attack Grill, at the Freemont Street Experience. This is not the place to go for a sensible meal, so definitely disregard if you're calorie counting. Offering burgers that range in size from the single burger up to the EIGHT PATTY Octuple Bypass Burger with bacon and Flatliner Fries (cooked in pure lard). When you walk in to the place, you are dressed in a hospital gown. There is a scale on the stage behind the bar that is there to see where you weigh, and if you weigh over 350lbs, you eat for FREE! A more personal approach to flying, NLV Airport has helicopter landing areas and runways that house every type of personally owned flying machine. There is a flight school on property, just in case you ever wanted to learn to fly! A great thing about this airport is the Landing and Viewing Area located on Decatur, just south of the Decatur and Cheyenne intersection on the western side of the airport. This area has a parking area, a small memorial park, and a couple of seating areas to sit and watch the take offs and landings that happen daily at the North Las Vegas Airport. From this area you will see helicopters taking off and landing, smaller engine planes and personal and smaller commercial jets.
