Students, Businesses and Families Call Fullerton Home

Fullerton is a mid-sized city in Orange County. Balancing exciting city life with a relaxed residential feel, it’s a top destination in Southern California for work and play.

Founded in the early 1900s, Fullerton quickly rose to prominence as a productive agricultural center, particularly for Valencia oranges. The citrus industry was instrumental in the city’s early development and success. At one time, Fullerton had more orange groves than any other municipality in the United States.

The petroleum industry contributed to Fullerton’s growth, with the discovery of the Brea-Olinda Oil Field. Aerospace contractors and manufacturing make up the city’s modern economy. The popular grocery store Vons is also headquartered here.

Cal State Fullerton, one of the largest public universities in the region, is a short drive from our facility. The university offers 109 degrees. Fun fact: The university hosted 1962’s “First Intercollegiate Elephant Race in Human History.” The event was an enormous success, with 10,000 attendees and 15 elephants. The race inspired the school mascot, an elephant called Tuffy the Titan. Our facility is also close to other schools, including Whittier College and Fullerton College.

Fullerton also has a vibrant musical history. It’s the hometown of punk legends Social Distortion, the Adolescents and Agent Orange. Likewise, guitar company Fender got its start in Fullerton. You can find the Fender exhibit “Building Guitars, Making History” at the Fullerton Museum Center in downtown. The annual Day of Music Fullerton festival celebrates the community’s musical culture and roots with hundreds of musical performances at numerous venues across town.

This Southern California city offers a blend of residential, commercial, educational and cultural attractions. In Fullerton, virtually everything you need (plus affordable storage) is within reach.

Things to Do in Fullerton, CA

There’s a wide variety of activities to fill your time in Fullerton, whether you’re in town for a weekend or long term. You’ll probably want to take full advantage of the region’s year-round beautiful weather, so start your journey at the Ralph B. Clark Regional Park. This park has it all, including barbecues, picnic tables, playgrounds, tennis courts and an amphitheater. While you’re there, make sure to check out the park’s interpretive center, which features Ice Age fossils like mammoth teeth. Among the fossils is a 9-million-year-old baleen whale skeleton, reputed to be the only complete Miocene whale fossil remaining in the world.

The Ralph B. Clark Regional Park morphs into the Los Coyotes Country Club, a 27-hole championship golf course designed by William Bell, Jr. and Ted Robinson. The country club also includes a tennis facility, pro shop and dining options. Yet the golfing attractions don’t end there – the Brea Creek Golf Course is another quality course only minutes from our facility.

The Muckenthaler Cultural Center is a must-see historic attraction in Fullerton. Originally constructed in 1924 as an estate for the Muckenthaler family, it’s a stunning example of Spanish Colonial Revival-style architecture, expertly restored to its original glory. Visitors can tour a library and conservatory with many antique furniture pieces and a gallery with rotating exhibits. Furthermore, the landscaped grounds include a wooded knoll, a rose garden and multiple gazebos.

There’s no better way to end a day in Fullerton than at the city’s animated downtown. In recent years, the area experienced a renaissance, with several new restaurants, cafés, bars and boutiques setting up shop. Nowadays, it regularly tops lists of “best downtowns” in Orange County. In the mood for food? There is plenty to eat and drink in downtown Fullerton. Try Macallans Public House for classic European bar food in cozy, brick-lined digs, or check out Tempo Urban Kitchen for a night of mouthwatering food and cocktails.
