Planning for Thanksgiving might sound a bit overwhelming. However, the Thanksgiving holiday should not be overwhelming, it should be a time of happiness and being prepared is a step closer to less stress.
You may have family members that travel from out of state and decide to stay at your home. In the meantime, you have to find ways to keep them entertained. You also have to plan meals accordingly and prepare for the main feast. This all sounds overwhelming but the fun fact is that with family together there can be great bonding time and much laughter. There are many things that can be done prior to your family coming to your home.
For starters you need to create space for the sleeping arrangements. You can temporarily rent a storage unit for that extra stuff to get it out of the way!
Entertaining your guests could be as simple as 1,2,3.
They can be taken out and enjoy the outside scenery.
There are many card games you can play or board games too. These can last for an hour or more.
Prepare meals accordingly. Stick to a plan of what is going to be made for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Just making these decisions ahead of time will take a lot of stress off your plate.
Keep in mind though, the main reason everyone is coming together is for the Thanksgiving holiday. Remember, there are two ways this big feast can be made. You can get everyone involved by having them contribute a dish of their choice or you can personally make your special dinner and baked goodies. Do what makes sense for you.
Lastly, don't forget that all the time and effort put into this special holiday will have lasting memories. Try not to stress. It's going to be worth it.
